When: Sunday, June 12th, 10:00 am
Where: Silver Lake Park, on the eastern shore of Silver Lake in Wisconsin. Enter the park and head to Parking Lot 4. There you’ll see The Flave.

What You’ll Learn:

    Shifting and braking
    Steering and maneuvering
    Climbing and descending
    Clearing simple obstacles
    How to crash

What to Expect: The Flave will arrive 45 minutes late and offer up some cockamamie excuse for the ketchup stain on his shirt. We will then spend about 45 minutes on basic skills before hitting the trails for about 90 minutes. We will take lots of breaks, and we’ll stop at several points along the ride to discuss (and attempt) specific trail features.

Equipment Provided by The Flave and Epic Cycle and Fitness:

    Bike
    Helmet
    Gloves

Stuff I Recommend Bringing to Maximize Your Comfort:

    Shorts — not baggy
Padded cycling chamois to wear under your shorts ($10 on amazon)
    Sneakers/athletic shoes with traction soles
Water bottle with water in it, potable if possible
Sunglasses or safety goggles (note: if submerged in a flowing river of acid, the goggles do nothing)
Beer — always delicious after a ride
If desired, a change of clothes for the drive home is usually a good move
Shin guards might not be a bad idea if you have them
